I’ve now completed week two of my second Ibrance cycle. Although my white blood count is low, it was safe to proceed. Bloodwork was rechecked today and still safe to proceed.
I’ve continued to be tired, cold and achy but I felt like I was beginning to find a new groove with just the basics around the house. Even though my garden is being overtaken with weeds, our pool is green, our house isn’t as clean or organized as I’m used too, meals have been super simple, kid’s are helping more and extras in our week are not happening like I’d hoped, everyone is fed, clean, dressed and loved.
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
1 John 4:16 ESV
But on Monday, July 26th I had my first Zometa infusion. Having cancer in my bones and being put into 100% menopause causes bone weakness and greatly increases my chances of bone fractures. This infusion, given every 3 months or so, depending on my bloodwork, will help strengthen and protect my bones. I was aware of the possible side effects but wasn’t prepared to be completely knocked down by them. I felt great until into the night. A high, 40.0°C fever, exhaustion and massive body aches hit. The worst lasted 12+ hours, the fever decreased but the aches and exhaustion continued for two days. I was not prepared for this, we had a birthday party and our third camping trip to prep for. Amazing friends to the rescue again!😭❤ We will definitely have a plan in place for me to be out of commission after my next infusion.
And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.

Over these last couple of weeks……
I’ve gotten lots of sweet grandbaby snuggles!

We’ve celebrated two July birthdays for two of our boys!

Took a day trip to visit the Greenwood Aviation Museum, playground, walking trail and zoo.

And had our third camping trip with our precious family and friends!

We have a busy upcoming week as I take my third week of Ibrance in this second cycle. Please pray for good sleep, proper pain management, energy and for my white count to not drop further so I can kind of keep up with this beautiful life I’ve been given.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
