As summer slowly draws to a close, we are soaking up one last week before starting school. Popsicles and hours in the pool have been a daily norm. Smoker and griddle meals help beat the heat. Enjoying visits with grandbabies, watching them grow and change, is the best. We welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the family in May.

I have thoroughly enjoyed summer as my body pain eases with the warm weather, I can sit out and soak up a bit of sun without the worry of bundling up or being chilled for countless hours.
Camping is another family favorite that we all still enjoy, except…..when it’s chilly or damp. With heavy rains coming in for half of our Canada Day weekend camping trip, we cut it short by two nights. Not being able to enjoy a fire all day was hard. I got very chilled and had extreme knee pain for nearly a week. This didn’t stop us from venturing out again….in the rain….again! But we were better prepared with a huge tarp and propane fire pit. It was a fun trip with lots of friends. Our last camping trip this year was a week at Kejimkujik. It was fabulous and I did not want to come home. The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather, all of our children, bonus children and grandbabies. We enjoyed delicious food and all the wonderful activities Keji offers. The waterfall, beaches, swimming, restaurant were all highlights.

We enjoyed being busy with 4-H also. We are all excited to go to Provincial Show later this month. With a cow and rabbit in tow.

My health has been stable these last few months. My CT’s have shown no change, cancer is stable. My finger ulcers have been causing some trouble, having some infections requiring antibiotics. My digestive system has a mind of it’s own each day. I still do feeds through my feeding tube, although earlier this spring my J tube migrated from my intestines to my stomach. This caused extreme pain, bloated and nausea/vomiting. A trip to Halifax to replace the J tube helped resolve everything and I’ve felt fairly good most days since. I still try and eat as much as possible each day. My weight has been holding around 105lbs give or take 5lbs depending on how well I can eat. I am also continuing IVIG treatments monthly hoping they will help reduce inflammation and soften my skin and joints. It hasn’t made any significant changes yet. Praying.
We’ve enjoyed our beautiful new deck and celebrated some birthdays this summer. Adding a new miniature schnauzer to the family has been a healing balm for the heart. We still missed our old pup Zoe. This new baby has been good for us all.

We are ready for the routines of fall and school. I love the freshness of the fall air but my body does not, not looking forward to having to bundle up again.

Proverbs 20:7 NLT
[7] The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.
I always love seeing the beautiful smiling faces of you and the fam and hearing all the updates. So glad your weight is stable and most of your conditions aren’t advancing, too. Praising God for that for you after some truly difficult years recently.
All the love!
