Ending 2020….Preparing For 2021

Welcome family, friends and everyone else that has found their way here to follow our journey.

I never imagined I’d ever be setting up a blog and sharing with the world but God has other plans. He’s been laying this on my heart for some time and I needed to step out in faith that our testimony and journey may bless and encourage us and others.

I don’t know anyone that will say 2020 is a year that will ever be forgotten. Perhaps some of us may want to, for various reasons. The beautiful highlights of 2020 for our family was the perfect addition of sweet baby #10, the announcement that grandbaby #1 will join us in 2021 and an engagement for another of our children with a wedding in 2021! So much to look forward to. BUT…

Along with the sweet blessings, the year ended in some heartbreak for us when I was diagnosed with cancer again, for the 4th time in my 43 years of life, Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Aside from a very small, close circle knowing and praying, we have needed the space and time to pray and process everything before openly sharing.

I am scheduled to begin chemotherapy later this week (for the 3rd time in my life). Now was the time to share so we can rally all the faithful prayer warriors we can, asking you to join our family for a miraculous divine healing. This will also be a place to keep those interested updated as I will not have the time or energy for many individual replies. Caring for my family, healing and rest will take priority.

I will write and share as I’m able. I am not only hoping to keep you updated here but also share my past cancer journys. Sharing how the Lord healed, how He answered the prayers of the faithful and how blessed we have been and continue to be. We are early in this current journey but already see God’s hand upon EVERY moment.

I chose the title of this blog to represent our stance……..Through It ALL our eyes will remain fixed on Jesus, through the good, the bad, the ugly, through healing or not, HE alone is our refuge and strength. Even when not faced with cancer I can’t even recall how many people ask us, ” How do you do it all?” JESUS is how we do it! JESUS is the ONLY way we do it!

When I faced cancer in 2011 (another blog post for the future) the key scripture verse that stood tall and strong above so many others for me and will be key for 2021 is found in: Matthew 21:21 “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.” We absolutely believe cancer is a mountain that God can cast into the sea! He has done this for me three times already and yes, even Stage IV! I was diagnosed with Stage IV Wilm’s Tumor 35 years ago and told I would likely never have children because of my extensive surgery, chemo and radiation! Look what God has done……..10 perfect healthy beautiful children later!

Join us in praying….join us in believing….that God is bigger than cancer!

This next journey will be no different, you will be a powerful role model for those who are ill or care for the ill. You and your family are always in my prayers but extra love is being sent.

  9. Maria, I am so sorry. Your post came at the right time for me. I’m currently sitting in my recliner, rocking my baby and being upset over the fact I may have a skin cancer. I had it removed and we don’t know yet but it’s nothing near as serious as anything you’re facing. I’m praying for you and will continue to. You are a very strong woman and the Lord has really been faithful to you. What a Godly example you are and have been while on this journey. Thank you for sharing with us all. ❤️
