Almost one year ago I wrote my first blog post. Crazy to look back over this past year, so thankful I documented, so thankful I shared as so many of those details would have been lost to my foggy chemo brain/memory. It’s also a little heartbreaking to look back and see how able I was, all the things I was able to do that I’m unable to do right now, how much healthier I felt even in the midst of treatments.
Never did I imagine the stats that would come with this blog!š³ Encouraging to know others care enough to read, to know many are praying, to know someone may be blessed by a post but also terrifying that so many know my story, how far it has reached.

Still trusting that this blog is part of God’s plan for me, a small part of my current story being lived out in real time. It completely belongs to Him!
You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.
Acts 22:15 NIV
These last couple of weeks have not been without incident even though the majority of our time has been home, kids equally enjoying warm sunny days in Crocs along with building snow forts the following week, gotta love Atlantic coast weather. All while continuing to work on school most days. This school year is much more relaxed and flexible, very much following how I feel throughout the day/week, working around appointments also. Thankful for a familiar thorough, curriculum and the experience to know our kids are still learning and growing, despite less than ideal circumstances this year.
Our youngest managed to be our first girl with a broken bone this month. A very swift, completely unexpected fall off a bed with daddy right there happened at bedtime one evening. She calmed and fell asleep quickly so a visit to the ER happened the following morning. Both bones in her forearm broken. It took 3 casts and painful resets to get it where the IWK Children’s Hospital was satisfied to leave it for the week, before seeing her in person. A heavy plaster cast and a busy 21 month old that still thinks she’s invincible is not fun. She still wanted to climb everything but was thrown off balance by her new addition.

A week later, she was seen at the IWK. A new xray, cast removed, reset a tiny bit then recast in a smaller, lighter fiberglass cast, covered in bright pink. She was a great little trooper with a long day of driving. Thankful for Peppa! Lol

Some sweet things that happened…… our Starlink Internet finally arrived! Being able to actually use internet is wonderful! We also added a cell phone booster a few months ago so we can actually talk on our phones without standing on outside furniture!š¤£

A crafting and tea party with Nana P.

We got to see and finalize where my mom’s final resting place will be. Beautiful Mountain Cemetery, overlooking the pond. We’ll hold a small ceremony for her here late spring/early summer when the weather is nice and we can gather together.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 10:28 NIV

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. I’m not one that cares about commercial holidays, they can pass by without notice many years. But I was completely spoiled by my sweet husband this year!š„° Beautiful roses, a delicious home cooked supper with mini potatoes, smoked steak, smoked bacon wrapped scallops with coffee and brownie cheesecake to follow. So yummy, so blessed, so thankful!šš

Some of my new aids to help with my disabilities have been trickling in. I’ll share more in a future post as more arrive and I have a chance to really try them out!
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalms 73:26 NIV
Starting today, I’m beginning to rehabilitate as much as I can! Thank you YouTube! I have no idea how this journey will look or how much strength, tone and ROM I’ll be able to regain but I know I want to try to be and do more before summer, so I can fully enjoy life with my family. Please join me in praying for the right exercises for me, the right stretches to benefit my aching body. The cancer is stable right now so it is a perfect time to focus on the rest of my body systems.
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31 NIV
