Ringing in 2024

God has blessed and been in our midst these past two months.

God blessed us with 25 years of marriage, thankful I’m here to celebrate this beautiful milestone. I can’t imagine living life with or for anyone else. We have always complimented each other in our personalities and actions. I know life is not how either of us planned or wanted but doing it together is more than I could ever ask for. Thank you for loving me every day.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[7] Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

God allowed me to celebrate my 46th birthday with my amazing family. Year 3 after a metestatic cancer diagnosis behind me, staring Year 4 in the face with a hope and prayer that my cancer med continues to work. My December CT shows everything quiet and stable, no changes. We’ll take it.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[5] And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

God allowed us to experience the sudden unexpected loss of Jeff’s dad on November 27th. He had a fall, broke his hip then passed just a week later. God brought peace and comfort with our oldest being at his side as he passed. He is and will be missed.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

God brings great joy with the addition of a beautiful daughter. Our second born son married his life love on November 18th. It was a gorgeous wedding. Joining two that are absolutely perfect for each other. They are the sweetest.

God grows our family again with the announcement of a precious new baby. Our oldest son and his lovely wife will be welcoming their first in June. We are so excited.

God has had His hand on our home addition, every step of the way. Construction, inspections, supplies and finances have gone smoothly and steadily since breaking ground. We are now in the finishing phase. Floors were laid, finish electrical and outside door were all completed today. Bathroom, mouldings, closet doors, outside and finish details are left. Lots ask if we have a date for completion……nope. Trusting it will be finished in God’s perfect time. I’m excited to move in to it, especially for the bathroom but not anxious and don’t want to rush the finish details.

‭‭John‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[11] I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

God has quietly been in the midst of Christmas with lots of amazing family time. Christmas tree hunting, cookie making, church, Frost Park, lights, gifts and meals together. I was not fully feeling the excitement and wonder of Christmas this year but watching our children each day and especially when all together with the older children and grand babies it brings a rich, comforting, unexplainable joy. Absolutely thankful for all the moments big and small.

God knows my health and what this new year will bring. My weight has continued to drop alarmingly. A feeding tube is in my very near future. I can’t continue to leave this decision until other organs/body systems become affected. I will also be trying a new treatment, IVIG. I’ve read that some have had great results with this treatment but there can, of course, be side effects. Blood clots, headaches and flu like symptoms to just name a few. Praying God continues to give me a peace about trying this, nervous of the unknown.

Please keep us in prayer for all of 2024. My upcoming treatments and procedure, new grand baby and home addition completion.

Hebrews‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[19] This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
