Ready To Thrive In 2025

Spring is here…..although we woke up to a white blanket and lit the wood stove today. Lol

Psalms 72:6 NLT
[6] May the king’s rule be refreshing like spring rain on freshly cut grass, like the showers that water the earth.

Sorry for such a long break between sharing. We had a beautiful holiday season, celebrating five birthdays along with Christmas.

Romans 8:37 NLT
[37] No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

I still find it very overwhelming to tackle the holidays. I absolutely love everything about it, the togetherness, the activities and the gifts but I struggle, feeling like it’s not enough. It still makes me sad to not be able to physically do more. To wrap the presents, to bake the treats, to shop through town and too participate in more activities. I’m so very thankful for all the help we have, it’s just me struggling.

This was the first time in many years that we’ve had an actual winter. Lots of snow, cold, winds and hibernation. Lol I still got out for church and homeschool group each week and necessary appointments but if I could choose, I stayed home. Snug and warm with the wood stove.

Job 37:9 NLT
[9] The stormy wind comes from its chamber, and the driving winds bring the cold.

My health this winter has been fairly stable. I’m still dealing with infections with my finger ulcers and ongoing gastrointestinal issues. My January CT shows a slight change in my lungs. My rheumatologist doesn’t think it’s scleroderma related and my oncologist doesn’t think it is cancer related so we are investigating a bit deeper as I’m having some shortness of breath on exertion. My weight has been stable, I’m almost hitting 110lbs, just eating. I haven’t done tube feeds for several months now but very thankful I have the tube so I can bypass my stomach for several medications. My stomach still has a mind of it’s own each day. Choosing to digest or not whenever it feels like it. Vomiting every few days is a life norm now. But thankful for overall stability.

Job 10:12 NLT
[12] You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care.

February 25th, which would have been my dad’s 90th birthday we were blessed with our second precious, perfect grandson. He is a long awaited addition to the cousin crew. Just can’t soak up enough of his sweetness. Also added was a grandpuppy. Lol He is adorable and loved by everyone, especially our pup Nova.

4-H is well underway this year with some fun activities, meetings and rallies. Two of our boys are on to regionals next week for their oreo truffle demonstration.

We celebrated sweet hubby’s birthday last week.

Looking forward to warm days on the deck, gardening with help and camping.

Please continue in prayer for our family. For complete remission and healing for me, if it’s God’s will. With my weight now stable I’d love to build up my strength and drive again. That would be life changing for us.
